  • Can exchange students choose to stay either one or two semesters? If only one semester, can they choose which semester to study?

    Yes, they can choose either spring or fall semester depending on the mutual agreement between the two universities. This should be consulted with the coordinator of home university.

  • What is the application deadline and what documents are required?
    Semester Spring Fall
    Period March 3 to June 21 September 1 to December 20
    Deadline November 15 May 15

  • Are there any breaks during the academic year?

    Schools in Korea have two seasonal vacations summer and winter. Students can choose take summer or winter courses if they want. Besides, Korea has averagely 1 holiday each month. There are several long holidays such as Thanks Giving Holiday, Christmas Holiday, New Year Holiday, etc.

  • With which countries do you have exchange programs, and how many exchange students do you have per semester?

    USA, UK, Canada, Australia, French, Netherlands, German, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Finland, Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Russia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Poland, Turkey, Japan, China, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi, Brazil and from over 550 Hanyang partners in the world. About 400 exchange students per semester.

  • Does hanyang offer any korean language courses for exchange students?

    Yes, there are two types of Korean language courses, Survival Korean class and Intensive Korean class. The Survival Korean class grants 3 credits and Intensive, 13 credits. Detailed information including the class schedule and application will be provided to students later. Students will register for Korean Language Program upon arrival and instruction will be announced at the orientation.

  • What is the regulation for the medical insurance for students?

    Exchange students must purchase the international student insurance in their home country and submit the proof to Hanyang after arrival.

    If no medical coverage is arranged, students are required to purchase the insurance on the Orientation in Korea, which will cost approximately 140,000 KRW for 6 months and 200,000KRW for 12 months.
